ABOUT THIS NOTICE

The miners collects a range of information from members of the public, staff and volunteers, artists, arts and culture organisations, and a range of other organisations to fulfil its charitable objects.

 This privacy notice tells you what to expect when The miners collects personal data. It applies to personal data we collect, create, use and store:

•          When you subscribe to our newsletter/email updates

•          When you register or buy a ticket for an event or performance

•          When you give your details when you book to take part in a workshop/activity

•          When you supply us with goods and services

•          When you visit our website

•          When you participate in evaluation activity (e.g. surveys)

 Under the General Data Protection Regulation, we must ensure that your personal information is:

•          To deal with emergencies

Legal basis for processing under GDPR

When you subscribe to our newsletter, provide or procure any services to/from us, or make a donation to us, you are entering into a contract with us. In order to perform this contract we need to process and store your data. For example, we may need to contact you by email or telephone in the event of a cancellation of a show, event or workshop, or in the case of problems with your payment or any other emergency.

Legitimate organisational interests

In certain situations we collect and process your personal data for purposes that are in our legitimate organisational interests. However we only do this if there is no overriding prejudice to you by using your personal information in this way. We describe below all situations where we may use this basis for processing.

With your explicit consent

For any situations where the two bases above are not appropriate, we will instead ask for your explicit consent before using your personal information in that specific situation.

Legal obligation

On occasion, it may be necessary for us to process data in order to comply with a legal obligation, for example as a result of a court order.

PUBLICITY AND MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS

We aim to communicate with you about the work that we do in ways that you find relevant, timely and respectful. To do this we use data that we have stored about you, such as what events you have booked for in the past, as well as any preferences you may have told us about.

We use our legitimate organisational interest as the legal basis for communications that will usually be by email or in some instances by post. In the case of postal mailings, you may object to receiving these at any time using the contact details of our data controller provided in this notice. In the case of email, you will be given the option to unsubscribe at the bottom of every email that we send you, or you can alternatively use the contact details provided in this policy.

There may also be instances when we contact you about our work by telephone however we will always get explicit consent from you before doing this. Please bear in mind that this does not apply to telephone calls that we may need to make to you related to events or activities (as above).

There are certain circumstances under which we may disclose your personal information to third parties. These are as follows:

Where we are under a duty to disclose your personal information in order to comply with any legal obligation (for example government bodies and law enforcement agencies).

•          Quotations, contract documentation and invoices contain names, contact details, financial and biographical information of suppliers or individuals employed by bidders or suppliers

•          To enable us to evaluate a quotation

•          To enable us to contact you about a quotation or contract

•          To enable us to fulfil our obligations under a contract or terms and conditions of an invoice
